Why do they call the place we get our hair cut a beauty shop? I call it the Chop Shop because I always have to run home and restyle my hair. That is what I did this past Wednesday.

Lazy Sunday afternoons when Daddy would take me to the Dairy Queen for soft serve ice cream. We called it frozen custard back then.

I have no desire to learn another language. If I would ever have to move to a county where English was not spoken I would learn that language. I certainly wouldn't expect everyone there to learn English because of me.

There are plantation blinds on all windows except for the living room and dining room. Both of these rooms are bare, because that is how I want them.

How many times do you hit the snooze button on a typical morning?

When I worked, for about a half hour. Then I would drink my coffee and read the paper for about an hour before I got into the shower. I got up 2 to 2 1/2 hours before I had to leave for work. I'm not a morning person, and it takes me a looooooong time to ease into my day.

When drinking my caffeine free diet coke, the can is cold and it's pour over ice in a glass.

I've been suffering from insomnia for several months, so I'm up late every night. Usually the last show I watch is Murder She Wrote that comes on at 11:00. However, I would definitely be willing to stay up later if Lost was moved to late, late night.

What is the nearest big city to your home?

Can you define "big"? I'll just mention the cities closest to me that are larger than my little town. Hurricane sits between Charleston and Huntington which are WV's two largest cities and they are about 20 minutes away. For the next largest city would be Pittsburgh, PA (4 1/2 hours away) or Washington, DC (6 hours away.)

When someone asks me not to repeat something I don't tell anyone. So for this I am a 10.

My color is Natural Instincts in light brown, my hair is fine and naturally curly. Right now my hair is about shoulder length.

What kind of driver are you? Courteous? Aggressive? Slow?

I am very courteous when it comes to driving. I will give someone plenty of room to cut in, or slow down to let someone enter the stream of traffic. But what ticks me off is when someone is driving on my bumper, passes me then slows down. If you want in front of me, speed up!!!

Since retirement I don't feel like I have a lot of bad days, especially a bad week. Now I don't take things as seriously as I use to. So to answer the question it would be 4 years at work.

Have you ever played a practical joke on anyone? If so, what did you do and who was your victim? I know I have, but I guess it's just to early for any one to be memorable.

What do your salt and pepper shakers look like? The ones I use daily are nothing fancy, just blue with handles.

Where is the next place you plan to visit (on vacation or business)?

I plan to go back to Charlotte real soon to see my grandbabies.

What kind of lotion or cream do you use to keep your hands from getting too dry?

Before I developed this horrible skin problem I used everything from Bath and Body Works to everything sold at the drug store. I especially like the original Jergens. Now I only use CeraVe and I must say it's the best I've ever used. It was recommend by my dermatologist and can be found at your drugstore. Some drugstores keeps it in their pharmacy, so you would have to ask for it.

Milk chocolate, peanut butter, sugar, more chocolate mixed together then topped with rich whipping cream, shaved dark chocolate and strawberries. I would call it Heavenly Chocolate

If you could have a summer and/or winter home, where would you want it to be? I would want the house to be by the ocean so I could hear the sounds of the waves. I don't like humidity, so the only place I've been by the ocean that doesn't have high humidity is San Diego. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this fine city.

My Steak!! Let me clarify that a little more. My fillet mignon!! I rarely eat red meat, so when I do I want it perfected. When ordering in a restaurant I ask for Pittsburgh medium rare. Yes I know it should be Pittsburgh rare, but with all the studies about eating meat at a certain temperature, I am now eating my steak with a warm center, but I still want it charred on the outside.

Everything will be going on plastic this year!! My son is getting married the 20th of this month and I'll be paying for a reception/dinner during the week of Christmas. The girl he is marrying has a little girl who will be 7 in December and my granddaughter will be 3 in December. There's a lot more expenses this year, so I must cut down on actual Christmas gifts.
