Saturday I received a letter from Glory Foods again apologizing for my inconvenience. They also included $2.00, (this surprized me) 2 coupons for 2 free vegetables, and 2 $.55 coupons.
End of story.

Glory Vegetables
Today I received an email from Glory. They said they would reimburse me for the product and that they were sorry I had to contact them regarding my Glory Foods experience. It was a 5 paragraph email addressing their quality products, quality control program and telling me my email would be shared with the Quality Assurance Department.
I do appreciate Glory Foods responding to my concern. What disturbs me is the email read like a form letter. It did not mention the specific vegetable or the grasshopper.
I contacted my local Department of Agriculture today to report this event. The gentleman I spoke to said this was the second complaint he has received this week (please note today is Tuesday) concerning foreign objects in food. His first complaint concerned a possible hair in a nutrition bar. Hey, give me a hair any day over a grasshopper.
The Department of Agriculture will be reporting my complaint to Glory Foods. All I want is some assurances that stronger quality control will be implemented into the regulations governing our food supply.

Glory Vegetables

Have you every tried Glory vegetables? They are wonderful, especially the mixed greens. They are perfectly seasoned, so all you have to do is warm them up.
Last night I fixed a can of the Glory mixed greens. As I was chewing one bite I noticed something tough. I thought it was probably a stem. I chewed down a second time and realized this was strange. I removed this object from my mouth and laid it on the side of my plate. As I was eating another bite, I noticed this “thing" was staring back at me. It was a grasshopper. EKKKKKK!!!!
How many times can someone brush their teeth in one evening? I shot off an email to Glory telling them of the added bonus in their greens. I immediately got a response saying they would be contacting me in 7-10 days. My husband placed the can and grasshopper in a baggie and put it in the refrigerator. I'm not thrilled having this insect in my refrigerator, but this should preserve the thing until I hear from Glory. I really do like their vegetables, but it is sad what we must accept as a national standard for our food.
